MPA Sponsors WorldSkills Australia 2025
For the first time in our history, the Master Painters Association of Australia proudly stepped up as a sponsor of the 2025 WorldSkills National Championships & Skills Show — and what a ride it was.
Held in Brisbane, this national event is more than just a competition. It’s a celebration of young talent, technical excellence, and the future of Australian trades — and we knew it was time the painting and decorating industry had a strong voice in that conversation.
Our sponsorship wasn’t just about logos and banners. It was about showing up — visibly, vocally, and with purpose, for the next generation of painters, decorators, and wet trade professionals.
And it paid off. Interest at our stand was nonstop. From career-hungry high schoolers to curious teachers, people were excited to learn about the real-world pathways painting and decorating can offer. With support from our RTO, the National Institute of Construction Skills, we were able to bring the trade to life and the energy was electric.
One of the standout moments? Watching our own apprentice, Xai Hang, take home gold in the national painting category. A massive win — not just for Xai, but for every young painter out there proving this trade deserves its spotlight.
By becoming a sponsor of WorldSkills, MPA has planted a flag in the ground: we’re serious about the future of our industry. We’re investing in it. We’re advocating for it. And we’re proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with organisations that share our belief in the power of skilled trades.
To everyone who visited our stand — thank you. To the competitors, we see you. And to the future painters of Australia — we’ve got your back.
