Apprenticeships

Australia’s painting and decorating offers young people untold opportunities, as well as a satisfying career path. There are currently more than 20,000 painters and decorators plying their trade across Australia, and there will always be a need for more qualified, experience painters. In fact, Australia’s painting and decorating sector is a growth industry, with more consumers looking for professional tradespeople to transform their houses into their dream homes every day.

A career in painting and decorating is so much more than just cutting in and rolling paint onto walls. You never know where you might end up, from large-scale high-rise developments, through to painting aircraft carries, the only barrier is your imagination.

An Apprenticeship with Master Painters Queensland

A Registered Training Organisation (RTO) since 1998, the Master Painters Association of Queensland is committed to providing industry qualified training to all of our members, as well as to the general public.

In 2007, we opened the Master Painters Queensland Training Centre and began providing education and training for painting and decorating apprentices, delivering the Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.

Our painting and decorating apprenticeship combines both classroom training with on the job industry experience. We can even help you land on-the-job training through our extensive network of industry partnerships, fostered over the last 20 years. A painting apprenticeship with MPA Queensland is usually undertaken over three to four years.

Upon completion of all components of the course, participants are issued with a full trade qualification. An apprenticeship allows young people to get paid to learn, through employment and training opportunities. Once completed, a rewarding and satisfying career awaits.
